If you`re talking about U.K plates then either silver or white letters on black background. If you are talking about California plates? Then it would be black letters on yellow background. These early pre 63 CA plates are not the same shape as the later black or blue CA plates.

1956 to current California license plates are the same size.
1955 and down there are a multitude of different sizes.

so if i have a 66 bus that is registered in florida is there anyway to bring into Cali and getting a black and yellow Cali plate?

man thtat would suck if i have to put a current 2007 plate on.
