Check out my new shifter.
Could this be the coolest shifter ever?
I believe it just might be. _________________

Very cool.
Personally, I truly love the feel of the big ball of wood on my stick, but hey, whatever blows up your skirt. |

Very cool! Where did you get it? I think Bucko should get one for his Military 181...
Where is Bucko anyway? I haven't seen any posts from him lately... |

It's a repro that I bought several years ago off of eBay. Now that it's in place, every time I look at it I laugh out loud! _________________

Heh Heh Heh, grenade... but after you use it on the cell phone idiot in front of you, how do you shift??? _________________ --- The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair.

Let Bucko know that he is missed and that he needs to come back to the Thing side soon... Vanagon? At least he's staying in the VW family... |

Looks Great.
Similar idea to what I used.
In this shot you can see what most people think are the inner door handles.

I'm quite sure the local constabulary will get a real "hoot" out of the Tec-9 sub-machine pistol mounted in your door.
I don't need a crystal ball to see our future...
Me: "Well you see officer, I thought the grenade-as-a-shifter would be really amusing so I... "
The Man: "Step out of the car sir, and keep your hands where I can see them!"
Me (with sad/dejected voice): "But... oh, allright" _________________

Last year my daughter was in a minor accident and called me to help her out. I arrived in the Thing, ahead of the police, and parked behind the accident and left my drivers door open. The drivers door has another gun on it. When the police arrived they did look into my car but said nothing about the guns or the grenade. Although the guns are nothing more than water pistols that I sprayed with gravel guard and velcroed to the doors { easily removeable} they do look a bit realistic. I also have a toy M60 machine gun, http://www.toyarsenal.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?S...ode=toy123 that usually rides in behind the rear seat. It is painted to match the ones in the doors.
Funny time was when I stopped to pick up a girl hitch hiking. She saw the Thing and was quite impressed with the outer appearance and was initially excited that she was getting a ride in a Thing show car, she told me where she was going. Once we started driving she had a chance to look around. She did not say a word, looked straight forward and did not move a muscle. I think she was terrified and though this was it for her.
Being the nice guy I am I explained to her that she was safe and dropped her off at her destination. _________________ Licensed Automotive Service Technician
