I was reading Hot VW's and there is an article where this guy full flowed the case, punched it out to make room for the stroker crank, Shuffled pinned it and align bored it.
What is shuffled pin??
I spoke with several mechanics and they are stumped.

Shuffle pinning is drilling and placing dowels in certain spots between the case halves so the stress of a high powered engine does not distort it. I think it's done near the bearing shells as that is the area under the most strain.

a sleave is placed on once side and slides over the main stud and around the main stud is machined to accept this sleave with a tight fit. Typcially only done on the center main as this is the place that a crank flexes the most and pounds on.
Personally, im not a big fan of these as they may help one problem, but create others.
not to mention, a crank is being pushed and pulled side to side and not up and down witch these pins help keep aligned.
