http://s30.photobucket.com/albums/c332/SuperRallyRoo/ the first couple pictures in this album are of the one I am buying. Needs some work but is what I am looking for. I am excited to learn how to work on auto body metal. It has no rust just alot of dents and dings and huge long scratches/dents. Its all in the photars. Check it out and tell me what you guys think. I am paying $2500.00 for it. Runs good stops good has a coolant light flashing but dude swears it never overheats and it wasn't while I was driving it. Has good power, I want to use it to take a trip around the US this summer. Maybe do a subaru conversion sometime in its future. Is it worth fixing it up? Anyone know of anyone around seattle that wants to help me with body work for cheap?

Technically I already bought it. Put a hold on it so its mine pending final payment.

Once you buy it, do a search here on "flashing coolant light". You'll find several posts on how to troubleshoot and repair that. Most likely a bad temp sensor in the coolant tank. About a 15 buck or less repair.

You'll want to be warned about a trip in a Vanagon. You'll want to check the usual quirks that these cool fun mobiles can carry along with them. Everyone here has the typical love/hate relationship with them, more love than hate I'd venture to say. On days when they need our TLC, the scale tips, but this forum keeps everyone in line.

Examine the "stickies" section at the top for great tips on repairs for the common failures, and again, be sure to use the search to locate any threads that can help you with other questions you may have.

Welcome aboard. Good to see another Vanagon survive in the hands of an eager owner!

What color do you have in mind? Silver I hope.

Why do most Vanagons have the same dent on the slider door? Is this some elite club. I have one too. It however was a parking lot gift before I owned Her. I remember when it happened. Boy where we Happy d'oh!

awesome thank you! I got off with the speeding ticket not going on my record. I told the judge that I sold all my fast cars and bought a vw "bus" and I will be incapable of speeding. AND IT WORKED!!!

I had to cancel on the buying of the 88 wolfsburg above Sad There was a issue with a truck I sold which was the payment for this van. Had to give the van back + 100$ cash. I had to settle for a much cheaper van for $650.00 that needs a motor. So I guess when my truck and rally car sells I will have enough money to buy one of the subaru conversion kits! yay.
Heres my new van... Its an 84 bought it for $600.00! The engine is puking oil all over the place but it did run? I'm just going to pull it out and start on the subaru conversion. It needs a good wash and a paint job but the body is way nice. Interior needs some steam cleaning and new curtians.
