Help!
I need a emergency flasher switch for my 67 bug. I went to the local classic VW parts dealer and they sold me one that has seven or so prongs on it. Its not the correct one. The one Im looking for has just two terminals. S and K and a ground. The one I purchased has the following terminals... R,L,49a,58b,30,15,49,50and 50a I know thats more than seven terminals but it has seven and these number next to it. The part # is 111 953 233 2
Does anyone know where I can purchase the correct one with S and K terminals or how to make this one I have work. I can wire it up and get the knob to flash and light up but no signal lights flashing. Any help sourcing one of these would be greatly appreciated. Let me know what yall think. Thanks

I have one for $20 shipped, but the red plastic is a bit chipped around the edge.

Sooo, this one's probably a better deal:

although the pic is awful so it could be chipped too. i would ask him.

that 9-pin Hazard switch, is from a later model, w/o the 9 pin black box, when your black box goes to crap, a 2 pin flasher relay, and that 9 pin hazard switch is the best way to go, that's just my 2cents

I'm no expert but I'm guessing the spike during cold running has everything to do with the roofing tar(20-50) in the crankcase.

^^ thats absolutely right, forgot about that damn relay box. If originality is a concern, I think mamotorworks sells the 67/68 black box but I can't vouch for the quality. And its $75.

That box, is the exact sam box, exact same box from WW, But the quality is shit on those things.

But the way it sounds he just needs a new hazard switch, I thought about it on mine, originality ain't a concern, one piece windows and all, but with 2 OGs layin around,... but yeah, use that, and dum p that old 9-pin out of your way.

You can't that switch, is the black box. the only way that'll work is to ditch the black box
