How do you determine left of right on the chrome trim? The one on the right came with my car and the one on the left is a reconditioned OG from KGPR and is a "right" side. Do I have two rights? Both Chromes seem to line up on both doors pretty well. The OG screw holes line up on both as well.

To me in the pictures it appears you have a left and right, A quick look at my car in the dark shows the thinner edge goes toward the front and the thicker edge goes toward the back, the rear profile should match the quarter window chrome strip. _________________ It's not about the window, it's about the people.

You can recognize left or right side by looking their back side. Slots for inserting trim clips are on different (mirrored) location. Then place the trim near the door edge and examine relation between slots of the trim and the holes on the door. You'll quickly find out which is left and which right. _________________ The glory never gets old, just need new paint.

Turns out I have two rights... Lonotch, you are right about the thin part going toward the front of the door and the rear edge lining up with the quarter window trim. Disc, early cars use screws to hold the trim on not clips. The screw head does all the work and the tension is adjusted by tightening or loosening the screws. The right and the left are identical on the back side from top to bottom. It is all in the topside profile. _________________ '58 Ghia 2387cc with a Berg / Folts 5 Speed

I am going to use stainless steel screws to replace these. Finding the proper size and shape of the head is the difficult part. |

I got the inner channel and lower outer chrome mounted and the door trim test fitted. KGPR sells these counter sunk screws. They work great.

Can anyone confirm how many screw holes there are to hold the chrome trim to the door? My trims only have the slots for 2 screws, one middle and one toward the front. And the painters filled all the screw holes
Maybe I have late style trims for clips? |
