The battery ground cable (strap) on our bus is getting a bit gnarly and I'd like to replace it. It's only about 6 inches long. I ordered a new one (similar the the Bus Depot one) and it is about a foot long (supposedly fits the Beetle and the Bus). Anyone know where I can get the shorter style or am I stuck with the longer one? I checked GoWesty and Bus Boys but couldn't find anything on their websites.
Thanks in advance!!! _________________ Kirk

Get bent.
I mean it - just use it with a gentle bend in the cable. _________________ Darryl

bought mine at a local indie hardware store, i flipped it over and on the back of the package it listed maybe 100 vehicles for use in, and Volkswagen was one of them.
it was a flat, solid copper braided one, works fine.

Hey Karl,
Went to my local VW dealership today, and lo-and-behold, part #443 971 235 D is still available from VW and they have quite a few in their various warehouses.
But the list price is about $55!!! Yikers!!!!
So, I'll either keep the long one that I bought, or....I did find some shorter ones online for $6 or $7. I'll drop by my local FLAPS on Thursday and see what I can find locally.
Thanks everyone for your help!!! _________________ Kirk

One more time, I'll trade you my short one for your long one. I'll ship mine to you and you ship yours to me. |
