I was hoping that I could get some good pictures of how the lever shocks are mounted to the spring plate. My spring plates were fitted with "custom" mounts for gas shocks, and I don't see any evidence of a spot to mount the lever arm.
thanks in advance |

The lever shocks themselves mount to the body, not the spring plate. |
They mount to the torsion tube end casting on a barndoor _________________

My single cab had the lever shock lever arms cut off, so I bought some cores to build a couple of good ones. So If I understand so far, I need the bolts with the eyes, and then the metal strap. It looks like I might be able to fabricate those. What I will need to know is the location of the holes on the spring plates, so I can drill for the mounting bolts. I am assuming that I can use the later model spring plates that are now on there and just drill for the holes? |

You don't have Barndoor spring plates on your Barndoor?
The holes are the same as a Bug spring plate with the axle cutout and 3 holes if you have one of those on-hand.
There is one eye bolt and 2 metal plates per side.
Brezelwerks was selling the plates and some other hardware at one point but i don't see an ad for them from that seller anymore. _________________ How to Post Photos

Looks like I don't understand how the lever attaches to the spring plate. The lever didn't look long enough to reach where the axle tube is bolted to the spring plate, so I assumed that those eye bolts attached somewhere along the spring plate, and therefore there should be a hole somewhere. So any pics would help out alot. |

That is great diagram, thankyou very much. I bought those lever shocks from you and I am figuring out how it should all fit together. |

So I know that this is kind of an old thread, but what I was wondering is what those of you, who don't have lever shocks, have done to add conventional rear shocks to a barndoor. Anyone want to post up some ideas or photos?
Thanks |

I have a set of nearly NOS what I believe to be barndoor lever shocks that I would really like to get in the hands of a deserving barndoor in exchange for a pair of type 1 single action lever shocks as seen in this picture:
The part number on the dual action ones I have begins with a 211 so is it safe to assume they fit all barndoors or a particular year range?
I'm planning to place an ad for a swap and I want to have the details correct. |

I'm looking for information on the linkage pictured below. Are these available anywhere, or is fabricating your own the way to go? Aren't there two pieces per side? I need these as well as the eye bolts. Are barndoor and split beetle eye bolts the same? I get the impression that they are not.
