easiest way would be to build a custom tube chassis i would imagine.
however it can be done.

First... Welcome
Second, CAPS off please
Third, when doing a V8 Beetle it's best to use a cut down full frame like from a Nova and bolt a Beetle body on it.
But then is is really still a VW or just a a cobbled car? _________________ Glenn

sorry about the caps....I like the beetle, similar to what I want to do.
I want to build a frame out of 2 x 3 square stock, I have a ton of ideas but just figured I'd see if anyone could shine some light on actually building one? the steering set-up and front suspension ect.... |

You wont get a whole lot of support here for a V-8 VW conversion. And for the money, you can go nice and fast, faster than you probably want, with an aircooled engine. If you just have to have one, with a V-8, look into a fiberglass body. _________________ I refuse to tiptoe through life, only to arrive safely at death. |

I think it would be better to build a 2332 and run 10's then stuff a V8 in a bug and do the same. After all it's about the little engine that could. _________________ If it is not watercooled then it should hover with fan power |

That's an awful lot of money and work to have a race only Beetle that only runs 10.50's. especially, when there are 10 second Beetles being driven on the street with VW engines. _________________ Jerry...

What? ya'll don't have ORSCA races in your area? 10.5 is the slick size, everything else is pretty much unlimited. This one was running 4.80's in the 1/8th. He was having handling trouble or it would've gone faster. I'm hardcore ACVW fan, but ya gotta love that much motor no matter what it's sitting in. _________________ 71 Bay (1776 in process)
