When were the first production kabriolets made?

I read the topic about the 1938 kabriolett info, but when I look at the KDF registry and the karmann split convertibles registry I don't see any other early kabrolett known

Were they not produced in the early 40th

I have a KDF sparkarte from 1940 were the person was saving for a cabrio limousine in tiefgraublau: see http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=613250

It looks like you need 5 sparkarte for a cabrio, but I can't find any information that the cabrio was really sold to the public that early.

According to the reprint of the KDF brochure that I have, the cabrio limousine is the sunroof model. Der Innenlenker mit Faltdach (cabriolimousine).
