Here is a part fastened to the front, right, bender with what appears to be original VW bolts. I need help figuring out what it is for..The hole is too small for the jack handle to fit through. |

Guessing...
It looks like it could be to tie/chain the jack onto, to hold it in place.

Pardon me if this seems "dense", but aren't these very different parts?
Likely related, though NOT the same? {mounting in separate locations)

it is just a conversation looking for more / better info ? is how i see it ? what are you thinking ? the OP part looks worn like something went thru that hole ?
so what does a jack look like installed there , does anything line up ? |
