Quiet up a bug.

I have a 72 super beetle. It has straight pipes now but i am having some neighbors complain about the noise and am tired of it so i am going to change out the exhaust. Any recomendations(under 100) for a good quiet exhaust. What about any other ways to keep it quiet without sacrificing power.

Trying stuffing some steelwool in the pipes covered with screen and tie wire to hold it on

If you have a stock engine then you are already losing power. Get a single quiet pack and you'll be much better off.
