Need some advice on this...
I travel for a living, so we're in an RV Park for the winter, can't do much maintenance, or make too much of a mess without getting in trouble, so the work has to be done at the local self-spray carwash.
Don't need it spotless, but the new engine will hopefully be going in soon, and I'm replacing shift coupler, bushing etc. so I'd like it fairly clean.
Thanks in advance!

I use a scraper for the crusty stuff. I follow with Tide powder clothes detergent (mixed thick in a bucket with water) and a scrub brush that looks like a large toothbrush. If you need more cleaning power, add Dawn dishsoap to the mix.

I know a lot of people here don't like it and say it's too expensive, but I've always had luck with Simple Green [they used to sell large bottles of it at Costco for a decent price].

Me too, i scrape the heavy stuff, soak it with simple green and then blow it all off with my power washer.

I spray a few cans of Gunk foaming engine degreaser on it and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I hook a hose up to the drain on my hot water heater and blast away. Of course, that would be tough to do at a campground...

Simple Green works for me. If you want to go really cheap try Scrub Bubbles (yes the shower spray) in a can. I think it's about a buck a can at Target. It works about the same as the other degreasers.

99 cent store has this stuff called Awesome and it works........um...............awesomely!!! Just spray it on the greasy stuff and let it sit for a while. If you're feeling incredibly lazy you can put one of those garden sprinkler dealies that sprays in an arc under the bus for a few hours. It'll be clean by then for sure. Doesn't work well with lowered buses but stock height is fantastic.
