I've been out of the VW scene for awhile after selling my 55 oval and 65 ghia a few years back due to a relocation. However, I just purchased a 59 ghia and it's on the way to Texas. I'm excited to get aqcquainted again with The Samba.

Nice, well-known car here in California. Pity it's painted a non-Karmann-Ghia color. Still, very lovely. _________________ David Ruby

| I live in Irving and work in Dallas. I agree about the color. I wish it was a correct 59 color. I will be ordering the birth certificate to see if the original color is listed. |

Thanks for the compliment sepulvedac. As to your question, I do not know anyone in SA. However, I did sell a 58 ghia red with black top to ghiafreek a few years ago. I think his first name was Steve. Really nice guy if you know him.
If the original color turns out to be graphite silver or diamond gray it will be quite tempting to do a respray when I have the time and money. |

Wow, I just came across this thread while doing a search on color for tops. It's been over a year since there was a post to it.
Anyway, yes atlaw4u, I was the one that bought your beautiful '58 several years ago and I do live in San Antonio. But my name is Edward aka ghiafreek.
Beautiful ghia BTW.

atlaw4u and Udo, both beautiful ghias!
i say just enjoy that ghia as is,its too much time and money to repaint it,also it looks good reguardless of being original. I also doubt very much that the car would be worth more if it was an original color. Its actually pretty insulting what ghias arent worth, they are pretty little things and i think a harder car to restore than a 356.
Im building a lowlight for my wife and we definately arent using an original color,I personally dont think it matters. If the cars were even worth what it costs to restore then i might have cared, but my feeling now is do what you want and enjoy them.
Beautiful ghias guys, giving me some inspiration! My only qualm is the whitewalls,im not a fan,i like blackwalls, but thats just my personal opinion. Maybe ive just seen too many of them,i used to love whitewalls but now they seem tacky to me. _________________ Have a great day! |

Sorry man,
Coupe's didn't come in Diamond grey or Graphite silver... Those colors were only for the convertible.
