This in an interesting conversion. Or abortion. Saw it on Craig's List and thought maybe someone might be interested.

I looked at that a couple of years ago. I would have bought it except the doors are stuck shut. there is a lot of rust but the back of the cab is fabricated very well. The rain gutter looks factory. The bed and tail gate are also very well done. but my body guy didn't want to touch it. I still thing it would have been really fun for a booth hauler for CFTC.

It is too bad that it is in such bad shape. I know a few people that have looked at it and it would need A LOT of work. It actually might be a factory or coach conversion done like that T3 firetruck thing that was kicking around here a while back. I would love to own it though. _________________ Jim in Sacto -

Theres one for sale here too. Rotted to hell but I'm tempted to grab it and put the roof on my still rusty but not quite as bad Fastback.
I'll try and get pics this week. _________________ Flug-coming soon! |

whats wrong with el camino's!!! looks pretty nice... but i guess i like the flow of elkys so much that just chopping behind the driver and putting a panel there just doesnt do it for me... it would need to flow like the 80's elkys.... maybe im partial cuase i own a last year 87 elky..

I hate to break it to you, but the El Camino is a car that just won't decrease in value. I thought about buying one a few years back, and in good condition a mid-1980's model will still fetch more than $10K. _________________ West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette, 319 U.S. 624 (1943) |

I would love to have that T3 truckster to haul stuff around in. Hell, even the fact that is actually done cleanly. I roof rack on it and maybe even a canopy like the early double cabs... Hmmmmm
The serious drawback of course being the serious rust issues.... _________________ Jim in Sacto -

Hate to admit it, but it does have a kind of appeal. _________________ 1974 Thing -- under the knife

Well, it goes without saying I'd change the lights and bumpers back. _________________ Be kind…

| Back in the 60's and 70's you used to see these all over the Puget Sound area. Unfortunately most were "hillbilly hack jobs" with plywood screwed on for the back of the cab. They were true abominations. It looks as though someone at least put some time and effort into those pictured above. |
