I have a 1972 bus. It is a camper, but not a pop top. It has an ice box (not fridge), sink, closet, seat that folds into bed, table on side of icebox, table next to seat, and table that slides under glove compartment. When I was a teen ager they were called "weekenders", but I have no idea what it is. The original owner died, so cannot ask. He started it out as a surf mobile, followed the Dead in it, and ended up in Alaska as Bush Pilot. I am trying to sell so would be nice to know what to call it. Thanks.

Sounds like a Hardtop Westy. What color is the seat upholstery (Honey mustery colored)? Color of the Wood (Brown Laminate)? Is the table top white with fine lines and matches the icebox top with the sink, and, the magazine cabinet behind the driver as well?
Is there a spice rack on the icebox?
Is there white molding around each cabinet
hole and door? Louvered windows? If the answer is yes to all of the above then it
probably a Westy.

How do you tell if it is a campmobile? There is no white moulding around cabinets, and no spice rack. no stove. does have a wooden porta potty (takes plastic bags) that looks like it was made with the bus. It is a hard top, with a line on the outside of roof, like some one meant to cut it out. It is a yukky pale red, but if you peel that, it is a bright red underneath. Has pressurized window washer and sink. Thanks. And what is a louvered window?

I belive that some Campmobiles were hard tops. A louvered window is one that has about 3 pieces of glass that opens outward. They also have screens on 'em to keep bugs out.
