I have a 78 2L engine with a 4 tip exhaust. The gasket on the triangle flange where the exhaust bolts up looks to have split an blow a section open. Would this cause a popping/ like a back firing noise when I go to downshift and also when I let up off the gas to slow down? If not any ideas of what might cause this would really help me.
