|

Everett,
Is there a possibility of having a specific restoration topic in each of the major VW categories?? People enjoy looking at other peoples projects to either obtain motivation, or inspiration for ideas on their own projects. Just a though! Anyone else think this would be a good move? This way each person could have their own forum page kindof where they could get feedback along the way and display their work on their cars! Neat and fun way of documenting your build as well when people are asking 'what have you done lately, or are you done yet?"

Many people start a topic in Reader's Rides or a specific model that documents their projects... small and large.
For example 63 Rag Top Resto
Other people have their own websites. _________________ Glenn

I like the idea, but most of those threads become worthless very quickly.
The problem is that people link to their iphoto, or photobucket, or whatever accounts, and after 60-90 days the thread is nothing but a mess of broken links. It would only work if everyone posted the photos in the gallery here (or someplace equally permanent) so they would last. If you post in the gallery then anyone who is interested can just click on the and see what you're up to as it is. |

Yeah, those are good statements. I guess the Readers' Rides could cover that.. Also, the links become broken as people delete or move photos from photo hosting sites without considering where those pictures are linked to.. If everyone put their pictures in the gallery, that'd work, huh? So, Readers Rides/ Resto?? I've never tried to do the free webpage thing before, is there such a deal where you can post up all of your progress pics? That'd be cool if anyone had information on that..
Oh well.. Just another idea. _________________ '62 VW Bug Sedan (Ruby Red)

If it involves a VW then post them here in the Gallery section! It's free, it's permanent, and other VW owners will be able to see what you're doing. |
