I have replaced the main rear seal, the seal in the fly wheel, the gland nut and the seals in the oil cooler.
I started the engine and it still is pouring out oil within a few seconds of starting the bus.
The leak is coming from the split where engine and tranny meet.
Any other thoughts where the oil may be coming from??? |

WHEN REPLACING THE REAR SEAL YOU NEED TO LUBRICATE THE INNER LIP WITH SOME MOTOR OIL, IF YOU DO NOT LUBRCATE, THE SEAL MAY GET CHEWED UP DURING INITIAL START UP AND START TO LEAK AGAIN........ANOTHER SCENARIO IS THAT THE BREATHER FROM THE OIL FILLER IS PLUGGED, USUALLY OIL WILL IMMEDIATLY FLOW FROM THE FRONT PULLEY. BUT IF YOUR CASE HAS TO MUCH OIL(overfilled)THE REAR SEAL WILL LEAK....... |

I know there was not too much oil in the engine. But can youtell me where the breather for oil filler is?
Also, someone said that maybe it was the cam plug behind the main seal. I am not sure what and where that is?
Thanks for the help. |

Did you replace the o-ring in the flywheel? |

Yes, I replaced the main seal and the thin seal that goes in teh fly wheel. Also, there is no oil around the cluth and gland nut, but it is sprayed all into the bell housing of the tranny. |

Sounds like the cam plug. The bitch of it is, by the time you get the engine out and the flywheel off, it is sitting there all innocent looking because no oil pressure has been hitting it while you take the engine out. It is the coke bottle size round plug directly under the front seal. Look for oil gallery plugs too. They are nondescript little shiny aluminum cap-looking things that close off the oil gallery drillings behind the flywheel as well.
They should be drilled out and tapped.
If it is the cam plug, here comes your complete rebuild, because you will have to split the case.
