|
|
Hi! Trying to decide on a new exhaust system for my Cal-Look Super. Please Post pictures of various exhaust systems in use around here to help me decide as to the "look". Also, I have basic stock engine, so I don't expect to see much, if any, horsepower improvements, but a comment concerning your perception of improvement and sound would be appreciated! Thanks!

you can get a header like this and then you can change to tips from stingers to dual mufflers. you can look at different tip here. http://www.chircoestore.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=182_495_496 if you plan on doing any performance changes. i would go with the Phat boy muffler system.

for the most hp/tq gains a single quiet pack is the way to go for a stock 1600cc, but isn't very loud.... if you want loud you can do what I did on my super and use a flowmaster 40 series in a "fatboy" exhaust set-up..... I love it and it's loud but nothing compaired to a stinger
Here's mine set-up on a stock 1600: (only reved it up to 1800rpms as not to piss the neighbors)

Dual Quiet Pack... a bit much for a stock engine.

I had that exhaust for awhile, but it didn't fit very good. It sounded great, but the tips hit on the apron and they pointed down a little bit, unlike the stockers that come straight out. It sounded good though, made my bug sound like a Harley!
I know that they make a "tri-mil" version thats more expensive but it fits much better.

I tried coating my foam filter in oil kinda like the K&N works but.... as you see it doesn't work on foam filter and it just ran out and into the intake then into the combustion chamber and presto... "Smoke screen" of burning oil... I later cleaned out the filter and all is well
