i am running a small stereo in my oval (Big M now running am/fm and ipod)
so i would like to add to speakers.my other oval i had a custom low profile box made for behind the rear seat.
i have now just had new carpet from west coast classics and it looks great and i don't want to cover if possible.
my original plan was same box covered in seat material to blend in.
any other options?i thought about rear quarter panels and just covering the speaker with the quater panel material.the quarter panel is like an 1" deep though so i don't think it will work.
any pics of what others have done?
thanks russ _________________ Cruiser pedals for sale (see my ad's)

Why not front kick panels? Seems the easiest. You can put them over the carpet, or carpet over the kick panel. _________________ 60 Rock Grey Vert |

Cabrios had a flat reinforcement panel welded in over the wheelwells under the dash. Just kind of tacked to the heater channel where it curves. Then it is carpeted over. They are stamped for rigidity but you could make the same thing and weld a little strip of steel to the back to get the same effect. Cut speaker holes and carpet over. |

Put a nice box in the back and call it a day. Upholster it and it will look good. I would never cut speaker holes in the front piece. _________________ CH³NO²

I am gonna run 2 6by9s and a 10" woofer in a custom box behind the rear seat. Then I might make a mount to run a speaker in the stock location in my oval dash, It will either be run off an amp and my Ipod, with the radio delete plate in the dash or through a redone Big M and my Ipod. I would like to run speakers up front in the kick panels but they look to cheasy for me _________________ ITMC-El Presidente

That sounds totally cool. Yes, up front is very cheesy. _________________ CH³NO²

I made boxes to neatly fit two way 3-1/2" speakers on each side of my parcel tray. Upholstered and zip-tied in for daily driving, took them out and hid the wires for car shows. I was happy with it; of course if you're not a fan of parcel trays, not really an option. _________________ Evan H.

under the front seats and the rear if you have no kick panel. I always thought of somehow getting the sound to come out the heat tube holes in the rear kickpanel...but still have heat. Of course if you don't want heat use those holes. I also might put two small tweeters behind the dash so I can get the sound to come out the defrost vent by the windshield somehow. I'd do it so I could reverse it and not be permanent of course. All thoughts for now. I have to actually try it |

It is funny, I work for Alpine doing crazy car audio for a living and am just starting the planning stages for my RHD 57'------ I will probably go with everything behind the rear seat in an easily removable enclosure controlled via RF remote. I may even put an era correct radio in the dash so I can use the shafts to control volume and track up and down on the radio.....
One Idea I had was to build enclosures to look like rear seat pillows........
