I had the same problem on my 72 super. I read for about 2 days everything I could find here re this problem and there's quite a few threads dealing with this subject.....I learned from these threads to first set valves ...check timeing..and adjust carb as per instruction on this site....I'll try and find the thread i used but it worked for me.....I had to read it a dozen times to figure it out but then again i read slowly.. Seriously..after i checked everthing I took the carb off stripped it down and soaked in varathene for a couple of hrs then reassembled it....set all screws to 2 1/2 turns then started her up and adjusted them in till she idled perfectly.. It worked for me. but the best advise is to read all the threads here on carb adjustment. Hope this helps somewhat. |
