I trying to find an answer to venting correctly. If i was to use a vent in the fuel pump block off, would I need to vent at the rocker covers?

I'd say its worth a shot. Try it. If you start leaking oil out the pulley seal and other places, you need more venting.

My 1915 leaked when I had stock venting. I vented the driver side valve cover and all the issues went away. That where I left it, and it has been good for 40k miles

I would vent the valve covers first.

I saw an engine that was vented in the fp openeing:it was messy.lots of oil flung around there by the timing components.I think the 3 point (both covers, stock breather) combo works fine.

Just to clarify... Are you asking if you should connect the fuel block-off vent to the valve cover vent? If so, bad idea.

I never have liked the idea of venting where a fuel pump block plate is. The gears (cam & dist drive) spin in the direction as to literally sling oil up where a vent tube would be. The pressure then pushed the slung oil up the tubes to the tank.

Pass on the F/P block plate and do the valve covers.

cheers guys

I was looking at the fuel pump block off from jaycee with vent capacity. I'll stick with my vented covers, I was looking at options, as I've picked up a low km 2110 with covers and FP cover vented.

I don't see why venting the fuel pump block off would hurt if your lines are sealed correctly. Here's a pic of someone who vented theirs into a CB box so that the excess oil would drain straight down instead of into the valve covers.

ok Guys. Dont be silly.... First of all in that photo, the fuel pump plate is being used to drain the oil from the breather. secondly as stated before there is a tremendous amount of oil being sprayed around in there from the gears. Third. that hole is 3 inches from the main crankcase breather which is 20 times the free area. Whats the use? Vent the valve covers and be done with it.

I've been using a Latest Rage "Porsche-style" breather for several years. I have the 1/2 valve cover vented to it, plus a small fabric breather filter on top vented to the atmosphere.

I've since cleaned up the hose (after this photo was taken) with a 90-degree aeroquip connector, to shorten the distance and tidy up the look.

Revs to 7,000 rpms with no mess (oil level near lower dipstick mark with deep sump):

Berg breather with just the valve covers vented.

Holes drilled in the front tin so the hoses don't cause air leaks.
