You never asked for a full refund. I just gave a full refund on an engine. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Misrepresented an engine I bought from him. Below is some of our correspondence. No offers of any kind to make amends. I would not deal with Mike again.
Your original ad title, "TheSamba.com Ad - re-built OG 67 engine"
Your original statements to me, "$900 We drove it for a year. It runs great!"
When I tried to talk you down, "It runs great, you can't even do a good rebuild on your engine for less than $900"
When I took it apart and complained to you, you said "Just take some Emory Cloth and red rags and polish/wipe the rust you
can reach out of there. It should run fine! You don't want to
replace 1 piston/rings/cylinder and throw the average compression out
of whack for the 4 cylinders. You could do a valve job on both heads
now?
Mike"
I said, "The pitting is way too deep. I am going to have to do a top end on it."
Mike said, Why not slap it back together and try it! It will run for years like
that! In a couple years you'll want to build a 1776cc or 2007cc
stroker engine out of it.
Mike" |
What issues did the engine have? I surmised that one cylinder had internal rust on the walls, but was there anything else? |

- When 4 broken off fins on the 3-4 side head
- Rear main seal was hard as a rock
- Lifter bores were so worn I could rock the lifters 1/8 either direction ( had to have Brothers rebush them)
- And of course, the rusted cylinder/rings on the 1-2 side _________________ flossin, tossin, dippin, and trippin |

The 100% complete '67 engine was in my dry garage after my son wrecked the square after we drove the car for 2 years with no trouble. I told him the woman we bought the '67 from told us she had the engine rebuilt!!! I must have pulled ONE spark plug in the garage and forgot to put it back , but there was no way he wanted to give back my 100% Complete '67 engine even if it needed 4 new cylinders! We only had a couple emails back & forth about the cylinder and then I didn't here any more out of him UNTIL 2 years later! I guess that's why he doesn't even remember he only paid $800 not $900! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Mike, I only said something because you came into my reader's rides thread talking crap about the new engine I built (off your core). It really pissed me off based on our history.
I NEVER would have said anything if you would have just kept your mouth/fingers shut.
Your the one that was poking the wasp nest with the stick. But I guess you just can't help yourself from posting on every thread on the samba!
Again, the total price paid is not the point. I don't understand why you keep falling back on that. That's like saying stealing is ok if the item is overpriced!
Carry on Mike.

I just had a very pleasant transaction with Mike. He went out of his way to pull some tricky parts off of a car for me and sold them at a fair price. I hope to do more business with him in the future! |

Waltz originally wanted to ad on an Additional rear wing added to his front wing order to be shipped to Scotland and we went back & forth on parts/prices/pictures/shipping etc. He takes 6 months to reply. I've been waiting to hear back from him for 2 years. I haven't been hiding out from him contacting me sooner! Our PM's were SO far apart they got deleted from age. It has been on my Conscience too so, I'll be Glad to ship you parts or refund, when I get an address. All I could remember was 'Alan in Scotland'? _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Hi Mike
Thanks for getting back to me.
If its ok with you i will take the refund ( i have got all the panels nos from bert over the last year or so)
At the time when we were doing the deal your son had a car crash and i did not want to bug you. ( you had more important things to do )
I paid you $120 which was £62.82, as the rate was 1.9562 back then.
If you refund me my £62.82 @ todays rate it will be $96.43 ( rate 1.5352 )
I will pm my pay-pal
Thanks again for your time.

Hi Mike
Thank you very much.
Thats one of the reasons i moved back to old vw's, not for the cars but the people behind them.
I have a 67 bay that was first sold not far from you in Medford ( Morse Motors )
Thanks Again
