4 tab hood

Are the 3 tab hoods the same 4 tab hoods i have a 56 convertible that has a
3 tab

I believe the 3 tab hoods were made from 61' and up. I could be wrong though. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Crying or Very sad

You want a 4-tab. The VW hood emblem looks different between the 4 tab & 3 prong style too.

other than the actual attachment of the emblem, what differs between these hoods?

ie, can I graft in the emblem area from the trash 4 tab that I have to a 3 tab and fake the funk? Shocked

OTHER THAN THE NUMBER OF TABS ON THE HOOD, ARE THERE ANY OTHER PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES ?

Referencing only the 1956-60 4-tab hood as the Pre '55 hoods are completely different. The under structure bracing changed a bit from Oval era to Square window near the corners where the hinge bolt area
