i used the WW brazilian fuzzies kit. 3 years and still like new. i figured at the time i would just use these until the bus i paid $25 for would reveal it's good karma. if you can't do the work yourself or have the bus in new paint then use german. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017

bill,
do you typically park your bus indoors?
the felts i have are less than 2 years old and the felt is seperating and rubber is cracked, typically parked outside. _________________ WANTED:

I got some from CIP1 and the fuzz came right off when installing. I called them and after I bitched up and down they finally sent another set at a discount. When it arrived, I looked at it and it clearly was from a different supplier. It was much nicer.
The bus has never been out in the weather so I cannot comment on how it holds up. |

fwiw i got my brazillian felts from cip1 also. it took about a year for the felt to come loose. i don't see how the brazillian rubber cracks and ages so fast. i will always go with wcm or ww rubber in the future for sure. _________________ WANTED:

If you get the felts from WCM, you have to cut your own holes and angles for the corners. Stitch and I took around 6 hours to build his cab doors using WCM kits.
I have since bought a kit from WW and one from Airhead Parts. They seem to be from the same supplier. They come pre-cut and really shave off the install time. I'd recommend either of them over WCM (or CIP) any day. The felt seems to be holding up pretty well, and I live in the land of sunshine and heat. |

| WW kit on my Panel that has been park outside for about two years; felt totally separated and hanging down the door of the bus. Vent wing seals all shrunken up and safari seals that have hardened to stone like consistency. Not too stoked to re-do all of this. All the stuff that is still in the box looks good though! |

i used cheap kit because i need to paint my bus after doing rust repair. if i were you i would buy the german ones. on mine i received the rubber that goes between door and window assembly that was not precut for screws or legs that go down into door. i used a exacto knife to cut them into it. so far mine are not seperating or loose felt cover on rubber fuzzies. _________________ Admin note: Bill Passed away - July, 2017

Installed the WW felt kit 4 years ago. My bus is garaged but gets rain, washing etc. Sits out in the sun all day at least 2 days a week. So far no loose felt. _________________ '63 23 Daily Driver

Sorry, can't remember if WW had a choice back then. I don't remember choosing between the two, just whatever they offered then. _________________ '63 23 Daily Driver

I had the brazilian on my bus..... the felt crapped out quickly..... I called and complained (this is about 3 years ago)...... and they sent out the german stuff!!
I have had 3 sets of seat stand mats now..... all turn a green color in the sun. They should probably test the product before they sell it...... they have exchenged the seat stand mats every time. |

I was gonna redo the rubber chanels in my doors but they still looked good but dry. So for a grin, I lubed them up good with mineral oil and now they look great. . . like new. Of course, the felt is totally gone so if I decide to roll this way I guess I will have to glue new felt into the channels. bB that time I think the mineral oil will have settled in good into the rubber and likely wont give me too much grief. But this way, if I decide to paint then I will still have a fresh set of seals in the wrappers.
Looks to me like Armour-all may simply be mineral oil dissolved into a base. . . maybe alchohol. The finish from mineral oil looks just like the finish of Armour-all. |

I sell felts from Italy, have been for 5 or so years, no complaints or people just don't want to complain. I have them in all my buses.
I also have the laminated glass bottom felts, only complaint is that they are too thick and some people have had to shave the base a little.
I used to sell the Brazilian ones till I started getting the one from Italy _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Talked to Ron Bengry at WW today and asked him which set I bought from him (6 years ago) and he said it could have been either but he doesn't see any difference between the German and Brazilian and thinks that he'd go Brazilian for the discount... _________________ '63 23 Daily Driver
