Last October, at a show, I bought a new header and a S&S dual quiet pack new, both for $35. Sometimes you can find new or gently used exhaust components at the shows for cheap.

Stay away from the stinger.

Actually Teufel, you can win a resto with a stinger, now I wouldnt recommend it but anyways. The stinger will just free up as much HP as possible, as long as you jet your carb(s) accordingly.

J Tubes are like $15 and you can get a Bug Pack header and single muffler for about that. I have used a Bug Pack single exhausts on my Bus for over 7 years and am happy with the sound and performance.

At a show you can follow truckersmike's advice and get something better.
