I am loosing about a quart of oil on every tank of gas the engine only has about 3500 miles since brand new I have look under the car an can not find were it is coming for only a small drip on the floor about a dime size after I drive it. Car runs great and no noticeable smoke from engine except when I start it up when cold. Check oil smells a little like gas but not bad.
Also sometimes after it runs then turned off to go to store then come back hard to start? It is a 1600 dp.

sound like you may be burning the oil do a compression check they sould be around 100-120 if to low take back to were you bought it .also check behind the fan shrowed for oil sometimes its hard to seal those doghouse coolers that would only cause a dime size cause it would need preasur to get oil out of case to oil cooler and maby out the seals.

You should have "NO smell of gas" in the oil. If the Fuel pump is bad, pull the fuel pump and fill the bottom of the pump with grease, after several trips, remove the pump and you can see if gas is leaking into the oil. The grease will have a tunnel washed through it. Vic. www.vwhelp.com
