yo, i might buy a 66 vw that has a 1200cc. i realy dont want a putter, so i was told that a 1200 is pretty rare and i could get some bucks for it. is this true?

no. they put 1200s in VWs from I think 1954 until the early 70s (Europe; until 65 US) so they are pretty common. more so than the 36hp 1200s,anyway. In general, they're worth about the same as a 1600 in similar condition. Besides, unless your 66 is a Euro model, it should have a 1300 with 50hp instead of the 40horse 1200. Either way, it's not gonna go fast.
