Don't forget to account that the color ages with time...

These guys have a few moldings

Thanks Alika

that shop carries the same stuff Gunzl carries. Either wrong color or wrong geometry.

Paint is my option with the correct geometry.

512dude,

Just catching up now - sorry I never received your pm's.

I reached the same conclusion as you it seems. I can find the correct trims but not the correct color. It seems like our shade of grey does not exist anymore.

So I finally received the bumper type (edge) molding through my friend in Belgium. It took him forever to mail it to me.

It is the correct type but not the correct color. The grey is a bit lighter.

If I were missing a piece, I think it would be okay to use it and probably no one would notice the difference. It sure beats a missing trim or an old dented/dry one - this one is all fresh and new, it feels good!

I will be doing a syncro tin-top to Westfalia conversion and I believe I am missing a few sections here and there so this should work.

I have received about 16 feet of it at a total cost of about $4/foot.
I don't think that I will use that much anytime soon so if anyone needs some I am happy to share.

I have not received those ones yet - my friend has been too busy I guess. He got them delivered to his house in Belgium but that's it so far. I am going to send him a reminder right now.

Is this the mittle grau or dunkel grau?

Pretty usre it was mittle grau. I also got dunkel grau for a different trim but it was too dark.

New to the forum with a ‘90 Westy in Oregon. I damaged some of my grey T-moulding and came across this thread in trying to source some replacement. I located a vendor in the UK ( https://campervanculture.com/product-category/westfalia-stuff/westfalia-interior-parts/page/2/ ) that carried the T-molding I was looking for. It was very slightly lighter in color but not noticeable in my application. There is an little extra lip on the new product but it didn’t affect installation. They also carry table, kitchen and cabinet door moldings as well. I know this is an old thread but just thought I’d share in the event there are others looking for suitable replacements that ships to the US. Looks like the same stuff someone sourced from Germany.

For many years I have used Peter Gunzl and it is always worth the EURO-Dollar cost. Just sharing that Bus Lab in Berkely has moulding too. buslab.com
The posts here are right, the new moulding is close but not the same. It requires removing the old moulding to use all new. I find that to be a good solution if the goal is to be free of the shrunken lengths.
