Help replacing tape deck with stock 01 gti deck.

ok so i want to put my stock deck from my gti into my 74 beetle. how do i do it?

and i know this sounds stupid but how do i take out the old deck. it dosent seem to want to pull out.

does it have tiny holes at the sides? for the release pins

When you say the old deck won't pull out, do you mean from the 74 Beetle? If so it needs to be pushed into the trunk- all the work gets done under the hood. To put the gti deck into the Beetle you'll have to cut a larger hole in the dash (yuck) or get an enclosure to mount it in the glovebox.
