Hello all-

Where can I find replacement rubber for the engine cover in my 88 DOKA? Is this the same as for a Vanagon of the same vintage? The previous owner (Hi Pedro!) made a nice diamond plate cover, but now the rubber is tired and has to go. I am getting frequent leaks in heavy rains. I have made use of simple weatherstripping for now, but need to remove the old rubber, repaint the channel, and replace.

All advice welcome!

Thanks....David....Nashville TN

Since dokas were sold in Canada, maybe if you contacted a VW dealership there you could luck out and find some seals. You could google on Capilano VW in VanBC or Speedway VW in Victoria BC or whatever's closer to you in TN.

I know the hatch size between the doka and vanagon are not the same but not sure about rubber seal transfer.

For that or for rear window rubber, Doka specific, I would try Lars at http://www.tristar-connection.de/originalparts/originalparts.php

or the Busman in Belgium at http://www.busman.be/pagina3.html

Hello all-

Another Samba member was kind enough to run down the proper part number for the rubber gasket for the DOKA Engine Compartment Lid Seal for a 1988 model. The part number for the doka top engine seal is
251 813 133 B. Turns out this is the same part number used for the lid seal for a Vanagon of the same vintage, and is available at several vendors in the US.

Same question but for the rear deck lid seal....where can that be acquired?

Best to all....dw, nashville, tn

Try the usual sources for vanagon parts. The first 2 will be the fastest to get the part from if you want it soon.

ETOS lists rear engine lid gasket as NLA

Then it lists this code:
F 24-E-062 353

Anyone help
Question

ETOS doesn't list part nos. for NLA parts.

One alternative is to get a used gasket from a german doka supplier or look on german ebay

This is for the rear hatch in the back, not the rear deck. They are two different gaskets.

It is really nothing special .just a high density rubber in a square shape.I would just look at "Mc master Carr" they are bound to have what you need.

I thought you asked for both seals:
1. Doka engine deck (top)
2. Doka Rear Hatch

Toadranger,

Did you find/make the gasket yet?
If not, I can go down to the local VW dealer next week to price one for you, if the dealer still carries them.
