Hello All,
I am sponsoring an event to be held in Dana Point, CA this OCT and I've been asked by the organizers to bring my bus. The event is the 40th anniversary of Hobie Catamarans. Hobie has had a long relationship with WV's here in the US, even coming up with the Hobie model of the Vanagon in the '80's.
Rather than have just my bus there, I thought it would be cool to get some of you SoCal bus guys involved. The event will be held at Doheny State Beach and I got the organizers to pony up 10 parking spots for buses.
Anyone interested? Can someone put me into contact with some OCTO guys? I'm open to any ideas you might have.

Thanks for any help!
Jeremy

Sounds like a pretty cool event. I've sent an email with a link to this page to the OCTO members. Very Happy You should however have this post moved to the shows and events forum. Cool

I was thinkin just splits (cause I'm biased) but I'm open. That's why I posted it in the splits forum. It's going to be a pretty big event. Alot of other groups from the community will be joining. There will be parties and special events all weekend.

People like looking at earlier busses rather than Phat Chix, cause they are more nostalgic. That doesn't make it an OOTO event. I have both an early and a late...So I can go to anything. Maybe I'll buy a Vanagon next?

I LIKE SPLITS TOO BUT KINDA TIRED OF LOOKING AT THEM...IN A WIERD WAY. LIKE HOW I GOT BURNED OUT ON FIRST GEN CAMAROS. EVERYBODY WANTS ONE, THE "COOL GUYS HAVE THEM", BUT THE TRUTH IS ALL THE DUMBF*CKS DONT KNOW THE DIFFERENCES AND THINK 69 IS THE BST YEAR. Rolling Eyes OH AND 68'S SUCK TOO ! EVEN THOUGH I HAD ONE.....FOR THE RECORD VANAGON SYNCHRO'S ARE THE SHITTTT!!

Here's the Hobie Bus. This is kind of the look we're going for. This event isn't going to be another OCTO it's going to be a Hobie event with the addition of a few buses hopefully. A good melding of several hardcore groups and some good community outreach for all. Contact me with ideas:
