Ah, but it protects the paint on the rims. the paint on mine is all scarred up from the PO prying the hubcaps off with a screwdriver.
I bought the "dress up" hubcap pullers that fit into the jack points and have a chrome "button" that covers the jack point hole.
See here.... http://www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=ZVW35
I just insert the pins into the holes on the hubcap, and snatch the hubcap off. Mine come off with no prying. _________________ I'm not losing my hair, it's just retired and relocating further south.

Don't forget to put on a sport coat to do it.

All service to be performed shall be performed in an attire suitible to conditions,up to and including black tie and tails...the tails come in handy for wiping your hands, and you can store small items in your cumberbund |

I use mine by putting them on top of paper on my tool bench. That way paper doesn't fly all over the garage. Then I use a screwdriver to remove the hubcaps. They are on so tight that nothing else will get them off. |

We had a German service manager that wanted us to wear neckties in the shop.
Until he got his caught in the fan on a 911. Luckily, it was a clip on tie, but it broke the Porsche fan. _________________ Society is like stew. If you don't keep it stirred up, you end up with a lot of scum on the top!--Edward Abbey
