They were most likely sold to people in Europe who were willing to take on the projects. Maybe if they are members on this site they will post some photos of any progress made to the Buses under their new ownership.

yes, i'd like to see some status updates on these BDs
i know of one that's been put back on the road...
most seem to get bought up by (low) entry level BD buyers, & then get passed around pretty soon after.

the guy selling these buses does not know shit about buses, all he knows is, the guys in the U.S, and in Europe are looking for cheap BD buses, he finds them, takes pictures of them, and sells them, sometimes the owner of the bus knows about it, sometimes he does not.......these buses are royally Fu#%$&, most, if not all of the current owners of these buses wind up buying thousands of dollars worth of metal panels from me or autocraft in the U.K....in the end it winds up being good for business.. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy...the blue and white singlecab in the pictures on that site is owned by a guy named Carlos Valencia, he is a member of this site, the other buses are owned by guys here is Bogota.....

Looks like you have yourself a January '54. According to this websites figures, the last barndoor produced in December of '53 was VIN number 20-070341.

I and 40 more people got this email from Sander July 7. So I believe they still are for sale.

-Tonny

Hello,

When the dollar and euro go up, my prices go down. That is why I can offer my three barndoors at a bargain at the moment:

the green 1952,
and orange 1953, and
and my 1953 pick up (original smooth gates) for only 7999 GBP (9999 Euro/ 15.999 USD).

Check out more pictures on www.buscarros.myphotoalbum.com

Let me know if you are interested. I will only respond to emails with a telephone number (just to many time-wasters out there....)

Kind regards,
Sander

because I found those cars before you even got a look at them, the real owners called and offered them to me, but they are so f$%&#$, I passed them up, and you know that if I passed them up, they are trash. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy ....... they have to be taken completely apart, the parts thrown in the trash, and the bus made all over again using my parts, Autocraft parts, or used/NOS parts...........this goes for 99% of the buses that you have sold "worldwide" in the past.....ask the new owners, ask them if their new buses were what they expected........

Well Sam, thatīs quite strange for you to say. I never sold a bus to you.......?????? Explain. Why donīt you PM me the invoice.....

As for Gersonīs comments on my buses: 1) the orange bus I found in 2004, even before you had strated the business and the brothers Gonzalez can confirm, 2) Yes, you found the green one first, no doubt, 3) Carlos Valencia emailed me to offer me the white -blue SC. He is the president of the Volkswagen Club of Cali, we could ask him........

So what are you suggesting Gerson? To `rip off` the VIN plates and build a complete new barndoor with your parts? And then pass it for a barndoor? And stamp a bodynumber behind the drivers seat and pass it up for a `personal stamping` (like you are suggesting in one of the threads on this website)...???? No Gerson, I prefer real buses. Yes, they are all fucked up, but I am at least not trying to cheat the market with fake buses......

And anyway, if I would`nt be selling my fucked up buses......you would have a lot less barndoor business.....

And last but not least `ask the new owners, ask them if their new buses were what they expected`.........isn`t that what this topic is all about? I for one would love to see how my barndoors are being restored.....and how much of your stuff they are using.....Cheers

Hi Ian,

Volkswagen exported some 1400plus barndoors to Colombia. You can read about it in the book of David Eccles. It says how much barndoors were exported too which countries worldwide!

Hope this is helpful to you. Cheers.
