I've got a bad case of wheel rub on the inside of the fender well. Car is substantially lowered with huge rubber under it.
I've got 295/15's on 10" rims. Rims are 4.75" bolt pattern and hubs have been redrilled obviously. I've already got two spacers on the drums and if I can't go any further. I want the rubber to stay where it is on the outside up under the fender but I need to get the inside of the tire further out. I'd like to keep the rims that are on the car.
Can I put a narrower tire on this rim and get the clearance I need? Car has big engine and when the weight transfers they rub real bad. _________________ Royals 2015 World Champions

yeah... 10" wide rims. The hubs are drilled for 4 3/4" bolt 5 lug pattern. It's a Chevy pattern. _________________ Royals 2015 World Champions

10" rims are too much. You'd have to do some serious modifications to the car to make those work without rubbing. If I were you I'd stick to something no wider than 8" then play with spacers. Your clearances will still be really tight, but it should work fine.
I assume you've got it narrowed already? _________________ Franklin's VW Werks

narrowed 3" on each side in the rear. The guy I bought the car from wanted a real rat rod tubbed rear end look. it shows good but it's just not drivable with the monster skins on it. _________________ Royals 2015 World Champions

You have a really good custom shop nearby?
That's something we could do here, but to be honest it's probably not worth the time and expense. Are you totally in love with the wheels? Post a pic so we can see what you're working with. _________________ Franklin's VW Werks

My gallery may give you an idea of what I'm dealing with. Rims are Crager 5 spokes and I'm not attached to them but was hoping to run them 1 more year as I've dumped a ton of cash in the engine this year. _________________ Royals 2015 World Champions
