The 45s are idle jets
The 50s are pump jets
The 170s are air correction jets
The 128s are main jets

You need to plug those vacuum ports.

Rich where.. low speed circuit or in main circuit?

Spitting up through the carb is lean. What size venturis? Did you set the floats correctly?

At what throttle position can you get it to sneeze up through the carbs? If early in the throttle your idle circuit is a little lean.. if you get about 1/3 of the way open before it acts up it is either float settings or main jets, or some of both.

If it is later in the pedal, you might want to try a slightly larger main jet.. like a 135 or so. Make sure your timing is right too. Timing being off will cause a lot of stuff like this.

And set your floats.

And make sure you don't have vacuum leaks.

And stuff.

How do you set your floats? I didn't realize they would affect the way it ran.
