I've got the two different types of headlight glass... vw logo and then the hella (I think that's what it is, I forget, and it's dark outside). Anyway, is the glass year or model specific. A friend needs some for his 58' and I'd like to get him the right stuff.

I'm pretty sure that 58 would have the Hella logo in the fluting with numbers at the bottom E1.0671.01 and the VW logo under the numbers and later glass says SB19 SB20 SB21

E1 is a lens for a sealed beam / USA/North American specifications headlight.

if this info is correct , looks like i have a 53-55 lense
Totally bare--current repro
"SB19 SB20 SB21" across bottom, Hella logo only--late '63-early '80s
"E1.0671.01" across bottom, both Hella (top) and VW logos--'56-'63
- "25484" in lower left corner-- ~'59-'63
- "25484" along inside top of rim--'56-~'58
No "E" number, just Hella logo at top and VW logo at bottom--'53-'56
- No vestigial oval in center of lens--late '55-'56
- Vestigial oval in center--'53-'55
