|
|
I have searched everywhere that I'm familiar with but I can't find a pepair panel for the bracing shown in the picture below. It is for a 75 Super and is the horizontal bracing that runs along the inside of the left and right side of the engine compartment (the horizontal bracing not the vertical, which I found repair panels for). Any help would be appreciated.

The ones you book marked are for a 74 which are different. I am trying to avoid a scrap yard as there aren't many in my area and I prefer working with new. |

Anyone know where I can get this panel? I'm a few weeks away from working in this area and need the panels ASAP. Any help would be appreciated.... |

You're only going to find that part in a junkyard,
because it's a '75-'79 German part only for the Fuel Injected engine.
Mexi & Brazil Bugs never used that type, even when Mexi went to fuel injection.
Your other post says you're going electric, so it doesn't matter anyway.
If you put in the "to - '74" parts, be sure to use both left & right sides,
and then the next guy can at least put a '74 & earlier engine back in. _________________ Good Luck

Depending on how rusted out the car is, it might be wise to re-clip the back -especially if the rust had compromised the integrity of the bumper bracket mounts...which also happends to lend itself to choosing a `74-down rear clip w/ flat apron, conventional over-cylinder head tins, and non strut bumpers(`73 down) if that's attractive.

| Thanks for the explanation of why I can't find the parts. I guess my best option is to use 74's. I do like the idea of changing the bumpers to something earlier. I will look into that too. I guess you answer on this post may answer another post I placed on not finding a rear apron for a 75 too.....tks again |
