Hello everyone.
My friend got a 412 with the gas heater in it but the fuel pump for the heater is gone. Is there any way to make the heater work with out the pump for just the heater and if so what do I need to make it work. I know that the normal pump runs about 28 pounds would that be anough to make the heater work? Does anyone know where I might be able to get an after market pump?

Thanks for the help
Johnathon

The pump for the heater is an impulse pump that delivers a metered amount of fuel with each pulse from the opening and closing of a set of points driven by the combustion fan in the heater. No standard automotive pump will work. Never seen or looked for one on eBay, but that might be your best bet.

You can try this.....I havn't tried it yet but it may work. Get a facet fuel pump. You know...one of the "clackers". Attached to the leads that are run from the timing points in the blower motor...it should run similar to the same speed. Since volume is the real issue...volume X time....or number of "clacks" per minute to achieve "X" volume, you will need a restrictor orifice in the line to keep the volume down to what is required by the heater. The heater pump volume is in the Clymer manual I beleive. Ray

I lurk here a bit. I just have so little time to post on more than one site....which is why I have not gotten back to Jakes site in about a year. I just get sucked in and spend too much time. In fact...I have not been past the 412 forum in two weeks. Just hectic. Very Happy Ray
