Why in that thread, do you "wonder" about the grundmann's archival info. Christian is here....just ask him..? Id bet for history sake hed be more than willing to answer all this stuff, so no more speculation.
I too would love to know how many total were made.
Theres alot to this equation. They would have had to make a bunch, for ANY out of only 500 to exist today. Yet, the target market would have kept them around, not scrapped them. So maybe they didnt make many at all, yet the number we have today survives.
Also have to account for unfound ones, prob 5 or so more left, and ones that the people own, and we will never see, cause they dislike the net, or arent into VW circles.
Just thinking about this stuff, keeps me up at night. _________________ Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

Christian is also on pre67.com so he will see the thread there and comment there I hope. There is a coachbuilt section on that site which is a more appropriate place to archive the information.
The Beeskow owners really want to get all the various records and research into a common public arena. Most Beeskow owners will tell you that there is a lot of incorrect information and disagreement on Beeskow production figures that has been written in books over the years... and that continues to be re-published. So a thread was started on pre67.com to help verify, clarify and understand the actual facts and claims... and get them public.
Between the various Rometsch Owners... there is a HUGE amount of data and information on the cars and the company. My hope is to have a single conversation online.. that discusses the different facts and various claims... and then breaks them down so that we can eliminate any confusion. If we have this in a public forum... then the group will be able to come to a common conclusion I think... or at least allow the reader to come to his own conclusion based on the comments and facts given.
I posted the link in that first post for folks to see the content posted on Pre67.com and add their thoughts there going forward. It was not my intent to start a new thread here as it confuses things to have the info split up.
Everett... or admin... please lock the thread here if that is ok with you. Thanks |
