After reading the M Code page, I am still having trouble deciphering what my bus originally was when it came out of the factory. To top that off, I was washing my bus today and found some white paint underneath what I thought was the original green! Is it originally green? Is it a true Sundial camper?

Here are the codes:

14 6

425 002 043

That's impossible to tell from the M-codes. The only officially sanctioned campers were Westfalias, and therefore the only ones that will have an M-code.

My '66 Sundial is exactly the same with the above numbers. Your bus and my bus and other Sundials are essentially panel buses that didn't become Sundials until they got to Riverside, California and were turned into campers there. Or as they're also called, OTW.

My Sundial has the exact same m-codes and colors too, but it is an Oct 65,
what is with the swiss preparation code?

Thanks for all the help! Since it was originally pearl white... does this mean Sundial probably painted it or does it mean that someone else probably painted it? I can see some pearl white under there and it looks to be in good shape! Maybe someday I will uncover it. Until then, I will rock the velvet green.

It was painted pearl white at the factory, hence the M-code designation for 1313, pearl white upper, pearl white lower.

OK! That's what I thought. Whoever painted it really took the time to paint it. The interior metal is painted too... even under all the camping stuff. Maybe it wasn't originally a sundial camper, although it sure as hell looks like one to me. Especially with its windows. It also has all of the sundial plates on the outside. Who knows?!? I still love the thing. Camped out in it for the first time last night... in my driveway Laughing

Check out this site for a semi-definitive answer about your bus. (Lifted from theSamba "How to ID your camper")
