I take this to mean that if I want info on building a 2332 based on a stock case, that question would get posted here? Not trying to split hairs, just clarify. You guys well know that questions of that nature generally end up in the Performance forum, and I kinda feel that's where they belong.
If I'm wrong and this forum is only for 'New Old Speed' type questions involving stock engines with period pieces, just let me know. I kinda feel like the way Glenn worded this, you'd pretty much get all engines lumped into this category, and I'm pretty sure that was not the intent. _________________ Build thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212747

It would be interesting to build a 2332 on a 36hp case.
This is for vintage speed, using 25/36/40/1500 engines and using period performance parts.
All stock and 1600 based performance is in the old forum. _________________ Glenn

Thanks, that's what I figured.
I'll get back to you on the 36hp big block- there was a guy doing custom stroker 36 horse cranks when I was at a VW show in Bakersfield....welded twinport heads, too. _________________ Build thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212747

All we ask is you take your best shot.
We'll move topics around if needed and refine the use of each forum. The idea is not to detract from the engine forum, but to add a specific palce for vintage performance. _________________ Glenn

I became interested in this topic after seeing a few cars in person w/ period speed accessories. Maybe one day I'll build a car w/ a period 'hopped up' engine.
Thanks for the addition. _________________ Cheers,

A great new fourm, I have been a fan of the 36HP motors and racing them off and on since 1959.
More power to you!!
