aircooled trans

ive been searching for a 4 speed trans for my aircooled vanagon with no luck!
anyone know where i can get one or atleast the parts to fix mine? fourth gear is gone.

I have not had need of his services (knock on wood) to this point, so don't have first hand knowledge though. Not sure what sorts of limited slip options are available to us Air Cooled types, but that would be worth asking if you're dropping over a grand regardless.

Oh, and you're much more likely to actually get help on air-cooled questions on http://www.itinerant-air-cooled.com/ rather than on Samba. Most of the folks on this board focus on the later vanagons.

try car-part.com. It searches all the junk yards..... that's where I found a DK air cooled trans for my old van.
