Knows someone anything about this 66-67 only hubcap?

a rumor is, it's sold only from a german catalog company named Quelle in the 60th/70th.

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

I found a set of 4 on the swap meet at the 2005 Hessisch Oldendorf meeting.

I don't know anything about the cap but I am wondering why you think it is 66-67 only?

the caps are the flat style for the 5 lug rims. (I hope I translate it right). This rims were used only modelyear 66 on type 14 and (I think) 66 to 67 on the beetle.
I don´t know whats with type3,34!!??

greetings Lutz

Ok, I understand, it did look that way in the photo to my eyes.

Yes, 66-67 for Beetles.

Type 3s used this sort of cap for 61-65 but the profile is different so Beetle caps do not fit 100% correctly.

Quelle means source in German. So basically these are cheapie caps you could buy. In Germany most big stores have a car section where you can get touch up paint, oil, wash materials and so forth including cheesy replacement hub caps. Same as going to Walmart.

@r39o "Quelle" is a brandname of a german catalog company. But it's correct the translation is "source"

Big stores like Wal Mart here in the USA were rarelly in Germany in the 50th to 70th.(ich komme aus Deutschland) I am native german!

More popular were the catalog companies, there you got all your stuff you needed.

But it's htf a catalog from the 50th or 60th that show car parts.

It exist some Reproduction hubcaps with a sign similar to my caps but always a little different and for the 4 lug rims. (Later style)

Quelle did sell clothes... not car parts.

These four caps I used to own, I sold them for about 3-4 years ago to a infamous guy called Paco from Belgium at a swap meet in Sweden called "Bug Run". I got them from a guy in Sweden who had a whole bunch of them, they where left-overs from a Swedish company called "Tyska Bil" (translated to German Cars)... this company sold after market parts with VW logo on, but got a court order on them saying that they could not do that anymore, and if they did they must go out of buissness. So they sold hub caps with similar markings, but not VW.
I have some other hub caps from the same company with diffrent logos, looking like VW, but yet not the same. "Same same but diffrent"

If you want more of those, I might find the guy in june, when its time for the next swap meet.

see this link http://www.alte-kataloge.de/Os65-Seite1-30/os65-seite1-30.html

in the index on the left side they show "Autozubehör". The catalog is from "Otto", but they sell the same stuff like "Quelle"
the main business from "Otto and Quelle" are clothes, but they also sold (and sell) other hardware (radios, tv, ....)

Thanks for your detailed answer. So the hubcaps are a newer reproduction?
