I am more inclined on the carbed v8 works. Just got a 63 Bug (freebie) ... Looking to spend about 3k on the motor, any 'turnkey' suggestions that could snap your head back, or any reccomendations for a semi-easy DIY engine build. |

1835 is not going to be exactly a head snapper....
2180, 10:1 CR with dual 44 IDF or 48 IDF Webers, Engle 130 cam... About $4500 .... Then there is also TURBO....
Remember horse power costs money, how fast can you afford to go...
Also its also horsepower to weight.... Make the car lighter, remove steel body and put fiberglass buggy body on it.....

My take on that saying is 'how resourceful are you?' I built the 1915 EFI turbo system for under $1000.... It's when you don't know how to do something and end up farming work out to people (or don't have the time), that's when the costs start to add up. _________________ Build thread: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=212747
