Day two of my search for original color on the 57 vert, still no answers to report. What colors were available on 57 verts. This thing was painted white in the 80's and looks to have been pretty thorough. I'm going to try the birth certificate route as well. |

if you are trying to find "your" original colour, some of the best spots to look would be by removing vin tag, under the door panels or under the headliner
the reality is though if they did a good job repainting years ago you may never find a trace of the original colour _________________ Cruiser pedals for sale (see my ad's)

Got my BC today and no color was specified, I cannot find another color on this car anywhere except white. Built on 13 feb. 57, can it be possibly white originally? Help! |

Yes an oval convertible can be white from the factory...
post in the ovals convertibles thread, better audience and it will make EmpiFlake happy.
remove your birth certificate from the plastic and they should have included a paper color sheet for your year if it did not specify a color...similar to this that came with my convertible's birth cert
The area of my vert with the most original paint was under the hood and under the back seat...oven-off worked well to remove the old stuff for exploration...
