okay here is what its doing... the past few days driving around in my 64 notchback when i press the clutch down and change gears either 2 to 3 or 3 to 4 the rear end seems to pull a little bit to the right, almost like its sliding out in the rear and then it will correct itself when i get into the gear and press on the gas... any ideas of what may cause this??

i just recently replaced the rear transmission mounts so the subframe mount would be the front transmission mount? or is it something completely different

You need to get it up on a hoist or on jackstands with someone to push the clutch pedal down while you watch to see what moves. It may only do it with a load on the rear wheels. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

do you mean a thumping noise when you go over a bump in the road or something because if so i get that from the right rear wheel.. ive always thought it was just the muffler hitting the body because it is kind of loose due to rust.... i will check it out thanks alot

not necessarily when hitting bumps any change in terrain would worsen it from paved to gravel etc. typically thumping when hitting bumps is possibly a bump stop missing or worn out. try to figure out which corner that noise is coming from

ok re read check the bump stops on the rear right also the cv problem wont be it becasue you have a swing axle correct? it could still be something with the axles but i am not too familiar with swings. the fact that it seems to be pulling to one side leads me to think axle though regardless. also check the rear trailing arm bushings where they mount to the subframe. good luck
