I found a 73 bay at the local junk yard it still has the 3 ribbed trans axle in it and an almost complete engine. When i went up and confronted them about buying it they were complete dicks and i ask them about it just to see if they knew anything about it. They didn't even know it was a Volkswagen. So i got really excited thought i might be able to snag it off of them for cheep so i offered them 200 bucks they laughed at me and said it would cost me about $2835 dollars. I really want to go back and pick it up for a cheap price before it gets sent to the crusher. How much would you offer them and how would you confront them? Well here are a few pictures of it so you can say what you thinks is worth. Ya and it is also a fake panel.
I had to climb in it to see how it felt to sit in a bus
It was really sweet i then knew i needed a bay i liked the look and the feel
My fat ass self you can see where they welded in beams and then sheet metal
O and since the doors handles were missing, inside handles taken and the outside was shaved i had to climb in general lee status
I went back today to see if they came to there senses to sell me the bus for 200 bucks and they gave me even more shit on how its worth so much more being a panel even tho it is a fake panel. What would you do leave it or bug the shit out of them?
Oh and there was also this french water cooled car there that was labeled Mr bean anyone know what it is.
There is also an earlier bug there with an uncut dash that look sweet but was on what looked to be a smashed up S 10 chassis
Thanks for reading any suggestions will be taken seriously. |

They weren't taking you seriously. Have someone else go offer 1k for that. I'm not into all of the crappy body mods but if your fallen in love then so be it. Shaved door handles
are stupid...been there and experienced the many failings. Looks odd with shaved turn signals and goofy column. Theres plenty to fix there but I'm doubting it'll go cheap. _________________ One day as a lion, or a lifetime as lamb

They think its worth how much? Like was said, that was a 1000 bay at best. The hacked in panel part makes the value go down. IMO They have the title? _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

I'd buy the Simca and put a type 1 VW drivetrain in it. |

What's going on in this picture? That doesn't look like the firewall or the gas tank in front of the motor. Did they hack that area? _________________ "In any racing engine, the nearer you are to it disintegrating, the better it's performance will be"

There is no title and the rest of the engine is in the back of the bay which includes to IDA carbs that look great, theres a lot to do to the bus but it is also rust free from what i could see. Lot of hacked up areas including the dash area and the rest of the entire bus. |

Yup. Along with the rest of the bus. Glad you want a bay but run away from that particular one. It'll be a nightmare to undo what's been done. Plus you're in Arizona so there should be a good, dry unhacked bay there somewhere in your price range.
I say pass and keep looking especially if they're being dicks to you _________________ '73 Transporter 1.7L Dual Carb

it has an original dash clock, but that's the only thing worth anything here.
The car is a Simca Mille or 1000, a French company that was then owned by Chrysler. though I never knew they were ever exported to the US market. |
