In 2011 I had my 36HP case machined at Rimco and had the Pulley and case Sand Seal. I need to replace it, and I reached out to Rimco today to find out what seal was used and they were not very helpful. Does anyone know what seal to get?

Let me know and thank you

This is the National oil seal number #321460
The National oil seal has a dual lip and is rubber on the outside.
Rimco used a CR (Chicago Rawhide) seal which is metal on the outside.

I prefer using the National seal because of the rubber on the outside. You don't need to use any sealant on it.
NAPA auto part stores only carry the CR seal. Car Quest auto parts is where I buy the National seal.
Also you should be able to find a seal at any bearing supply house.

Joseph,

Thank you for the info. Got myself the seal today. Pulled the old one today and got the new one half way in. Any tips on how to press it in fully so it sits properly.

Cheers,

Eric M

The use of a large socket or piece of tubing, steel or plastic should work with the use of a mallet to tap in to place.
